  1. I got the plans for this Lift Bay Garage Shop about 17 Months ago( October 2022 ). No problem getting a building permit once I got plans stamped to meet the 2021 IRC as required by my city planning department( a simple phone call and I was sent an updated plan set. The plans are very easy to read and follow for all the necessary construction details. I built my shop by myself, except for the concrete and shingles in 14 months of sporadic spare time. The materials list is for basic construction; one needs to get extra 2x4's and 2x6's for required bracing as well as to hold walls plumb during construction. Best plans for my space and needs found after months of research!

    1. Just an added note: I had my 2-post 9000# lift installed at the highest setting,12'6", which required me to frame in a small recess in the scissor trusses as the top crossbar is slightly above the truss bottom. If I had gotten it installed in the lower setting it would have fit just fine. I wanted to have max height available to use the lift if needed. I'm not a carpenter; just a 71 year-old retired mechanic who wanted a place to work on car and metal fab projects.
